Juli Shore Design, Brand and Packaging

Europe’s Finest Flavors. Epicure Foods.

The Brief

Juli Shore Design collaborated with Beacon Branding to create packaging concepts and shipper for two Epicure Foods specialty items: Camembert de la Petite Reine (“the petite queen”), presented in a wooden wheel box, and a Scottish oak cracker wrapped in cello. The goal was to evoke the regional character and longstanding food traditions of France and Scotland, conveying a sense of heritage and specialty craft. Each product needed to feel rooted in old-world culture and reflect the authenticity of its origins.

The Solution

For the Camembert, JSD explored imagery that conveyed a sense of royalty without relying on a literal interpretation of the name. A crown and cow iconography provided a nod to the agricultural origins. Silkscreen artwork and classic typography gave the wooden wheel box a distinctly French, handcrafted character.
For the Scottish crackers, concepts drew on historical references of a family crest, tartan-inspired patterns, and 18th-century engraving used with a touch of humor. Elegant and historical typography reinforce a sense of longevity and craft. Together, the designs offer distinct expressions of French and Scottish culinary heritage while clearly signaling gourmet quality.
