Ménage à Trois, a renowned California winery, sought to expand its portfolio with a new sweet, semi-sparkling line extension called the "Sweet Collection." This project aimed to create packaging designs for four varietals: Dolce, Moscato, Hot Pink, and Sultry Red. The challenge was to develop a visual identity that would appeal to a younger demographic while maintaining the brand's premium image. The packaging needed to convey quality, appetite appeal, and affordable luxury, clearly differentiating itself from existing brand offerings while catering to the growing consumer demand for sweet, superior wine experiences.
We crafted a family of designs that seamlessly blend traditional baroque styling with contemporary elements. The packaging features decorative gold foil scrolls and frames, luxurious typography, and a rich color palette, evoking a sense of old-world charm. To elevate the brand's status, a regal cartouche was molded into the glass bottle's shoulder. The capsule designs echoed the label's elaborate scrollwork and vibrant colors, providing clear flavor cues. A custom medal was also designed, highlighting the brand's 20-year legacy of accolades and leveraging the family's winemaking history. This comprehensive approach resulted in a cohesive, visually striking package that effectively communicated the product's exceptional quality and unique positioning within the low-alcohol California blend category.
